Our Values

Way back in late 2006 (light years in BizLab time), following weeks of debate, we painstakingly chose our five values. We didn't just select words that looked good glued to a wall in our lobby. Rather, we settled on the five values that we believed most authentically reflected the essence of who we are.

Our team strives to daily live our values in each behavior, decision, and customer interaction. That does not mean we are perfect. We certainly fall short at times. But we can say with integrity that we are committed to the responsibility of measuring our actions against these five timeless values.

Our Purpose

We exist to be leaders in business and life.

There's a lot to unpack in our purpose.

We exist to be leaders in business. We build competitively dominant businesses - businesses that lead their markets. We know many advantages gather in your favor when you are number one, and we love being number one. We plan to win, and we win.

We exist to be leaders in business in another way, too. Our people are business leaders. If we don't have a team full of influential leaders staffing our businesses, we don't win. (Also, our purpose is deliberately bold. We do develop leaders, but our purpose is to be leaders, to act as leaders act, to achieve the big results, and to serve with humble authority.)

We exist to be leaders in life. We work with, nurture, and surround ourselves with people of genuine influence. Properly, working at BizLab should be a game-changer in one's career. We're a factory that turns out leaders who positively impact those around them - not just those they work with, but their family, friends, and greater community - because of the leadership skills they develop at BizLab.

What We Do

BizLab exists to be leaders in business and life. So, let's talk about the "business" part of our purpose.

Some have labeled us as an internet holding company or incubator. Our business is starting or acquiring small internet-based businesses and then growing them. But we don't just grab wildly at any opportunity that comes our way. We decided years ago to only manage small businesses that are ethically and morally sound. Businesses that we feel add clear value to our community and society.

Some of our businesses were developed internally. Others were developed as side projects by team members who, by themselves, didn't have the time, money or man power to bring them to their full potential. We're open to starting socially responsible businesses, regardless of how the opportunity presents itself.
